Tesla seeks a Business Development Manager in Western Australia to drive growth in the utility energy market for Megapack and Powerwall products. What to Expect

The Business Development Manager is a key role within Tesla’s Utility-scale Business Development and Project Sales team, responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships and leading pre-contract commercial activities, specifically in Western Australia.

Tesla Energy is experiencing immense growth in both the Utility and Residential Energy sectors across APAC, supported by the continued development of new market leading Megapack and Powerwall products, and the regional shift towards renewable storage targets.

We require an experienced Sales professional to drive growth in the utility energy market and support the growth of the Powerwall and Megapack market in Western Australia through existing and new client relationships.

What You’ll Do
  • Identify and build the sales pipeline in Western Australia’s growing utility-scale storage market
  • Lead the commercial negotiations of commercial and utility projects, working with cross-functional teams to compile Sales Agreements and Long Term Service Agreements for execution
  • Support the Powerwall channel business growth in Western Australia through engagement with Channel Partners, Certified Installers and local government
  • Support the Powerwall channel team in identifying new sales channels and segments for Powerwall and support with commercial negotiations and contracting
  • new segments and support contract negotiations
  • Provide support to policy and business development teams to ensure that both Megapack and Powerwall markets are expanded in the region
  • Ensure internal systems are maintained with regards to opportunity details and other relevant project information
  • Proactively manage external and internal stakeholder engagement to achieve timely close-out of contracts
  • Preparation and presentation of deal parameters to secure relevant executive approvals
  • Identify opportunities to implement continuous improvement and best practice
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business or Finance (technical background preferred)
  • At least 4+ years commercial experience in B2B projects in the Australian energy sector
  • Expertise in negotiating Sales Agreements for energy related products and services
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills; experienced in building strong working relationships and comfortable interacting with Senior Management
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and work streams/proven track record of client-facing communication and flexible time-management with changing priorities
  • Highly driven, can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deal with ambiguity based on a “can-do” solutions-oriented attitude
