Job Description

As a Business Program Management MBA Intern at Microsoft, you'll identify, define, and design opportunities to improve existing or create new programs. You'll advocate for program value using clear metrics, gaining buy-in from stakeholders and customers. Responsibilities include program monitoring to ensure alignment with objectives and efficient process execution, including change management. You'll collaborate with global teams on real-world projects, leveraging data and performance metrics (OKRs, KPIs) to demonstrate program impact. The internship involves program landscape research and analysis, forecasting, understanding business goals and priorities, identifying program risks, and communicating program status to stakeholders. This is a 12-week internship starting June 2025, with a potential for full-time employment based on performance and business needs.

As a Business Program Management MBA Intern, you will identify, define, and design opportunities to support and/or develop new programs or improve current programs. You will advocate for and demonstrate the value of the program through clearly defined metrics in order to gain buy in from stakeholders, partners and customers. You will monitor programs to ensure all activities align with program objectives and ensures program processes are executed efficiently including change management and/or program improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Legally authorised (have citizenship or a valid visa/work permit) to work in Ireland? (Legally authorised = Has citizenship or has been granted a valid visa or work permit).
  • Must have at least one additional semeser/term of school remaining following the completion of the internship.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement.

 

The internship is set to begin in June 2025 and will last for a duration of 12 weeks.

 

 

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

 At the end of your internship, depending on business need, budget, and your performance, you may be eligible for a full-time position. However, any full-time position offered will be consistent with your internship placement (i.e. same profession/discipline and location).

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Supports and contributes to performing program landscape research and analysis (e.g., internal and/or external market, sales, delivery), forecasting, and examining business trends (e.g., customer feedback and expectations) to identify audience size and program scope, and stay current, agile, and competitive.
  • Collaborates with others to understand overall business goals, objectives, and strategies, as well as short- and long-term business priorities. Understands and identifies current program risks, impact, and mitigation plans in collaboration with others.
  • Works with others to evangelize programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact with minimal guidance. Begins to adapt communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.
  • Assists others who overlook a portfolio of projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs. Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, and risk mitigation plans and processes, with minimal guidance.
