Riot’s Procurement team partners with Deal Owners to secure all goods and services needed. We apply policies that help mitigate risk while allowing for maximum value in our deals. From getting large projects approved and negotiating contracts, to tracking orders and payments, we help Deal Owners navigate the journey.
As a Procurement Buyer, you’ll report to the APAC Finance Operations Manager. You’ll partner with Deal Owners representing multiple areas of the business to research, evaluate, advise on, and execute buys for products and services that enable Riot to meet our daily operational and financial goals. Purchases will be assigned to you based on a categorized combination of equipment, materials, supplies, and services, allowing you to grow and utilize your area-specific expertise. An ideal candidate for the Buyer position is an astute, analytical, relationship builder who is a skilled negotiator and dealmaker.
Responsibilities:
Partner with leadership to assist with establishing a robust procurement policy, as well as processes, and procedures for SEA that ensure Riot is in compliance with local regulations.
Advise Deal Owners on purchasing decisions in accordance with company policies and procedures, historical data, emerging industry trends, and personal expertise.
Collaborate with Deal Owners to identify product and service requirements, as needed.
Properly manage multiple commodities by conducting market research analysis and regular category reviews to expose trends and other insights; allowing the buyer to better understand existing business needs and identify opportunities for variances in approach (ex: needs consolidations, blanket contract implementations, rate renegotiation opportunities, etc.)
Effectively manage workloads, time, and resources to successfully support multiple priorities ensuring team SLAs are met.
Contribute to and execute upon commodity-space sourcing strategies.
Conduct competitive sourcing exercises, including RFx events and/or direct supplier negotiation, to secure best value-based awards.
Collaborate with Deal Owners, suppliers, and Riot’s Legal team to build effective contracts that are fair, comprehensive, and appropriately mitigate operational, financial, and other applicable risks.
Manage and execute End-to-End procurement activities including, supplier engagement/ supplier vetting, review and approve requisitions and change orders, procurement System management includes contracting and Purchase Orders issuing.
Participate in special projects as needed, which include, but are not limited to: evaluating and helping improve the current P2P processes, assisting with system improvement, facilitating cross-training exercises, supporting accounting with month-end activities, etc.
Resolves disputes between suppliers and Deal Owners that may arise regarding quality of goods and services or timeliness of delivery. Receives assistance to resolve complex issues.
Conduct supplier business reviews to assess supplier performance and compliance.
Requirements Qualifications
5 years previous buying/sourcing experience strongly preferred, or ability to demonstrate comparable knowledge and skills
Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and market dynamics. Proven experience working in procurement/project experiences in the Singapore market,with at least 3 years in a senior role.
Experience in setting up procurement processes and frameworks is a plus.
Ability to take initiative and exercise good business judgment with minor supervision
Strong organization and follow-through skills
Ability to understand, interpret, and articulate procurement policies to Deal Owners
Ability to develop professional relationships with, and provide guidance to Deal Owners and suppliers
Experience with reviewing and negotiating contract clauses
Knowledge of proper contract structure and data protection
Experience with pricing proposal review and analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong English written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration preferred
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Google Suite)
Experience/Capability in the use of the following is a plus:
Ariba, Coupa, or other E-Procurement tool
Project management and presentation skills
