Job Description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a CAD/3D Designer- Wire Harness located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the CAD/3D Designer- Wire Harness will utilize NX CAD to design/route wiring harnesses based on vehicle background and customer specifications, using customer team center to download/upload files

What a typical day looks like:

• Usage/experience of NX as official 3D CAD software
• Team Center knowledge/releases/download/upload
• 3D wiring routing and components design
• Support design release engineers with 3D/CAD study files
• Assist in developing engineering designs and implement engineering changes.
• Maintain good communication skills internally and with customer
• Track and document design requests internally and with customer.
• Coordinate with Design Release Engineers to communicate CAD status/changes and 2D/3D releases
• Interface with systems engineers and 3D designers to develop and validate wire harness designs
• Support/Maintain customer part release system and approval documents
• Involve in other functions within company and external suppliers on design-related matters.
• Demonstrate regularly use and application of engineering principles theories, concepts and techniques.
• Collaborate with design & analysis groups to create 3D math models.
  
  

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

• Experience of NX usage
• 3+ years’ experience in Wiring routing
• Previous automotive experience
• Strong communication skills to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
