The Daily Wire is looking for a detail-oriented Camera Assistant to support the camera department during film, television, or video productions. This role is critical in ensuring smooth camera operations and high-quality visuals. You will work closely with the camera operator and production team to ensure all camera equipment is properly set up, maintained, and ready for every scene. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, and breaking down cameras and accessories; working with the camera operator to position the camera; performing routine checks; supporting camera movements; managing film stock; helping with focus pulling; maintaining equipment inventory; reviewing footage; coordinating with other departments; and addressing technical issues.
Must have:
- Experience or interest in film or video production.
- Basic understanding of camera equipment and processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- High attention to detail and work under pressure.
- Ability to lift and carry camera equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Job Details
The Daily Wire is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Camera Assistant to support our camera department during film, television, or video productions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth camera operations and high-quality visuals. You will work closely with the camera operator and the production team to ensure all camera equipment is properly set up, maintained, and ready for every scene.
Primary Responsibilites
- Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of cameras, lenses, tripods, rigs, and other camera accessories
- Work alongside the camera operator to ensure the camera is properly positioned and prepared for each shot
- Perform routine checks, clean lenses, and sensors, inspect cables, and verify that all camera gear is functioning correctly
- Support smooth handheld or mounted camera movements during filming
- Load and unload film stock for film productions, and manage safe storage and transport
- Help with focus pulling and maintaining sharp focus during scenes
- Maintain inventory of camera equipment and ensure everything is accounted for before, during, and after shoots
- Assist in reviewing footage during production to confirm visual quality and consistency
- Coordinate with the director, lighting, grip, and other departments to ensure camera setup supports the creative vision
- Identify and address any technical issues with camera gear, escalating to senior camera crew as needed
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience or a strong interest in film or video production, ideally as a camera assistant or intern. Experience in handling camera equipment is a plus.
- Basic understanding of camera equipment, lenses, and film or video production processes. Familiarity with various camera setups and operations is highly valued.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues related to cameras and related equipment. Comfort with handling heavy equipment and a variety of camera types.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Ability to lift and carry camera equipment and gear, as well as remain on feet for long periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work well with a wide range of people in a collaborative setting.
- Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, or evenings as needed for production schedules.
