This role focuses on driving innovation and growth in the OTC Pain category. About the role

This role is integral to driving innovation and growth in the OTC Pain category, ensuring that we stay ahead of market trends and meet the future needs of our diverse consumer base.

As a key member of a cross-functional OTC team, you will lead the Front-End Innovation process for Pain, using deep consumer insights to unlock the development of new, superior product concepts. Your role is essential in advancing our OTC innovation capabilities, aligned with Haleon's transformation goals.

The role also involves delivering foundational learning and growth opportunity analyses on key underserved audiences and future demand spaces.

Your expertise will provide external insights, inspiring the Pain category team with relevant trends, consumer behaviour changes, and competitive innovations. Additionally, you will support the Pain strategy by providing data and insights for strategic planning, business updates, investor relationships, and marketing events.

Key Responsibilities

  • As part of a cross-functional team, drive the Front-End Innovation process for OTC Pain, delivering deep consumer insights and inspiration, unlocking the ideation and development of new, innovation ideas, and leading the qualification of superior product concepts for Gate 1 submissions.
  • Contribute significantly to advancing our OTC innovation capability from a CBIA perspective, aligned with Haleon’s global innovation transformation objectives. Recommend new learning and research techniques & methodologies to generate more profound consumer insights and to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of learning and testing approaches.
  • Conduct foundational learning, growth opportunity and how-to-win analyses on underserved audiences, prioritizing lower socio-economic households, Kids, Older Adults, and women.
  • Partner with the central CBIA team to develop, deliver and embed the future Pain Demand Spaces framework, as a foundation for future growth opportunity identification and strategy setting.
  • Provide external insights, inspiring the Pain / OTC category team with relevant trends, consumer behaviour changes, and competitive innovation.
  • Provide Pain strategy, data, and insight support for strategic planning, business updates, investor relationships, and marketing events.

Qualifications and skills

Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, psychology, sociology or data science.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Minimum 5 years of a proven track record in global FMCG / OTC insights & analytics roles, focused on innovation, foundational consumer learnings, emerging markets, demand spacing and trends.
  • Hands-on experience with relevant consumer learning and testing methodologies and a track record of successful experimentation and implementation of new, innovative tools & approaches.
  • Confident leadership style with excellent interpersonal, influence and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a high paced, cross-functional organization and deliver multiple priorities under tight timelines with rigor and quality. Strong planning & organization skills are a must.
  • Proven track record in challenging the status quo and in driving transformational change.
