Job Description

This role is part of indirect procurement is accountable and responsible for strategy sourcing and category management for all global marketing across Personal Health and Health Systems, ensure contract compliance, best marketing procurement strategy to drive productivity and TCO, sustainability and innovation. The core objective is to provide the best Indirect Procurement solutions for Philips to create value with sustainable impact.

Royal Philps Indirect Procurement organization, reporting to Indirect Procurement Global Marketing & Communication Category Leader.

Your role:

  • Define and implement Marketing category sourcing and suppliers strategies for the allocated spend (€100M+)
  • Manage key marketing sub-categories of media, Comms, PR, influencer, creative, production, content localization & translation, event, Marketing insights, Sponsorship, digital engagement CRM, SEO etc.  spend for North America region
  • Work with extended outsourcing 3rd party marketing procurement partner to deliver sourcing projects
  • Ensure alignment with the organization’s marketing and brand objectives while optimizing cost efficiency & cost savings
  • Define and deliver a strong savings funnel approach of Procurement (Price) and Demand (Quantity) initiatives
  • Negotiate contracts for commercials to ensure budget adherence; Partner with legal on contract implementation
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors within marketing category
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality deliverables and long-term engagement & partnership.
  • Manage the global key strategic marketing category Suppliers’ Relationships; conduct regular vendor performance reviews based on service quality, cost, and compliance.
  • Contribute to the development of Sourcing Playbooks to guide supplier management


You're the right fit if you have :

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in business administration, Economics or equivalent
  • 5 - 15 years’ experience in category sourcing for Marketing Services Category
  • Specific expertise in Media & PR, Creative agencies mgmt. and Digital.
  • Deep understanding of market offerings and trends with proven functional and thought leadership of the Marketing category
  • Proven experience Managing spend (€200M+) & key suppliers, with the ability to and lead global or regional projects
  • Practitioner in designing new sourcing models, and negotiating complex deals (€20M+)
  • Expert level in contract management and disputes / escalation resolution at CxO level
  • Ability to deliver opportunities / business cases with plans to optimize spend and TCO
  • Ability to develop a 360° supplier strategy, account management plan and roadmap.
  • Proven supplier relationship management skills and ability to lead supplier governance
  • Entrepreneurial with ability to take independent decisions while de-risking the business
  • Collaborate with other functions (i.e. legal, security) to ensure contract compliance
  • Be able to work and manage the 3rd party procurement partner to deliver procurement projects and drive savings
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at CxO level
  • Flexible mindset with strong work ethics and collaboration skills in global teams
  • Understanding of Source-2-Contract and P2P processes, contract management
  • Knowledge of procurement tools and analytical methods
  • Excellence negotiation skills


How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

This is an office-based role.
