Job Description

The Certification and Compliance Lead will maintain up-to-date certification and compliance checklists based on app store guidelines, run checklists, and maintain a device firmware library. They will identify device purchasing needs, collaborate with engineers and artists, compile trackers and reports, and create test briefs. They will analyze information, provide support, train testers, review dev consoles, and monitor store reviews. The role requires experience in certification or QA, knowledge of mobile platforms, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  •  Maintain up to date certification and compliance checklists based on new guidelines released from the app stores.
  • Run certification and compliance checklists based on 1st Party app store requirements like Apple, Google, and Amazon.
  • Maintain a library of diverse device firmware based on user metrics to enable sufficient test coverage.
  • Identify and relay purchasing needs for new mobile devices based on evolving user trends.
  • Work with client team Software Engineers, artists, and production team to eliminate issues before change lists integration, and to validate that features have reached the targeted quality levels.
  • Compile trackers, and reports to be used for regression, checklists, and test coverage.
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of the client, create test briefs including edge case test scenarios and potential knock-on issues into other areas, and create test cases containing accurate verification points based on production expectations.
  • Analyse the information provided by the Development and Production Teams to identify risk areas.
  • Interface daily with the domain experts โ€“ development and production team โ€“ and provided high quality support and accurate feedback.
  • Peer, mentor and train new testers.
  • Create performance reviews for your team.
  • Review 1stParty dev consoles for crashes and ANRs and report to the Production team.
  • Constantly check for store reviews to identify user issues and report them to the Management team.
Requirements
  • At least three yearsโ€™ experience in a Certification and Compliance or QA position on either Mobile or Console. 
  • Previous experience working in the games industry.
  • Previous experience working on 1st Party guidelines from the Mobile app stores.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and to meet given deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Very good knowledge of mobile platforms (Amazon, Google, Apple).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team orientated individual
  • Previous experience with black-box testing.
  • Previous experience with issue tracking databases (JIRA, Hansoft, DevTrack, Mantis etc.).
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Passion for modern technology from the mobile world.
  • Proactive.
  Desirable
  • Previous Quality Assurance/Certification experience with Freemium mobile games.
  • Previous Quality Assurance/Certification experience in testing social mobile games.
  • Passionate and experienced social mobile games player.
  • Has the testing knowledge to provide constructive feedback to address challenges that come up within the project.
  • Ability to work overtime without being asked would be a big plus.
