Job Description

Escape Velocity seeks a Certification QA Lead to oversee and drive feature testing for a multiplatform game (PS5, Xbox One, mobile). Responsibilities include managing test cases, ensuring platform compliance, providing development support (guiding teams on platform requirements, assisting with 1st party submissions, managing bug databases), training/mentoring testers, and preparing status reports. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience in certification testing across multiple platforms, live service game experience, proficiency in Jira, exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated leadership experience managing external QA teams.

Description

What we are looking for:

Escape Velocity is looking for a Certification QA Lead, to oversee and drive feature testing efforts for a multiplatform game. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining central test cases, ensure compliance with platform requirements and provide development support to streamline certification processes.

Requirements

  • Oversee certification testing for different platforms PS5, Xbox One, and mobile ensuring adherence to the different platform standards.
  • Write, edit, and execute test cases to validate compliance with required standards and guidelines.
  • Provide development support by guiding teams on platform requirements, pointing developers to specific documentation.
  • Assist with 1st Party Submission, including formulation of waivers and exception requests, challenging incorrectly reported submission must fix bugs, negotiating with 1st parties on conditional must-fixes and supporting title configuration on 1st party portals in development and retail environments.
  • Manage bug databases, ensuring accurate logging, tracking, and resolution of issues.
  • Conduct thorough bug finding, writing, and reviewing, maintaining high standards for issue documentation.
  • Train and mentor Certification Testers, ensuring team members are aligned with best practices in certification testing.
  • Prepare status reports and end-of-project reports to communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical issues affecting project timelines or quality to leadership.
  • Ensure alignment on certification standards and project milestones.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in certification testing across multiple platforms (Playstation, Xbox, PC, mobile)
  • Experience with live service games
  • Proficiency in Jira or similar bug tracking and project management software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including collaborating with and managing external QA teams to ensure quality standards and timeline are met.
  • Familiarity with UE5 is a strong plus
