Summary 

This position will assist with ramping up the new contract scope of a current program, which will require dedicated attention of the current Chief EngineersThis position will off-load lower level tasks so the Chief Engineers can focus on the priority issues and Headquarter Air Force Priority Letter items.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, the Chief Engineering Summer Co-op will be expected to: 

  • Assist Program Chief Engineers and the Directorate Chief Engineer in performance of engineering execution and planning. 

 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Track engineering metrics for development and schedule performance 

  • Conduct directed research on technical topics as directed by Chief Engineers 

  • Document findings and lessons learned in white papers for team review 

  • Participate in execution of configuration and setup of computational equipment, documenting feedback and updating required procedures 

  • Review engineering specifications for completeness and compliance to requirements 

  • Process change requests and peer reviews for documents and white papers 

  • Establish and facilitate communication with other impacted teams in the execution of responsibilities 

 

Qualifications 

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products 

  • Pursuing path to Engineering degree 

  • Fluency in English 

 

Preferred Skills 

Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and concepts with varied audiences. Good writing and presentation skills. 

 

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

 

Work Environment 

Work is performed in an environment where irritants such as noise from telephones, temperature, and lighting variations may exist, but there is little chance of injury, accident, or occupational health problems. 

 

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (sitting for long periods at a desk and in technical meetings) 

  • Must be able to climb stairs on a regular basis 

  • Must be willing to work overtime
