Logitech seeks a Senior CMF Engineer (NPI) to join a cross-functional team developing consumer electronics in Suzhou, China. Responsibilities include new product CMF engineering design, bridging ID/CMF design and manufacturing for optimal user experience and manufacturability; translating design concepts into engineering activities; partnering with manufacturing teams to ensure robust processes and continuous improvement; defining reliability testing; and ensuring CMF specifications meet product requirements. The role requires staying current on CMF trends, independently resolving complex issues, and acting as a technical expert. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering) with 3+ years of experience in material development, decoration processes, and color development, preferably in the CMF industry. Proficiency in English is essential.

Job Title: Senior CMF Engineer (NPI)

Department and Location: CMF, Suzhou

Reports To: CMF-Manager

Summary:

  • Logitech is seeking a Senior CMF Engineer to join a cross-functional team developing consumer electronics. 

  • You will work closely with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Design, R&D, Process Engineering…) and external vendors. You need to be able to learn fast in translating consumer needs, industrial design into product engineering design, creating, aligning with team’s goal to drive aggressive Cost, Schedule, User experience, and sustainability target.

Responsibilities:

  • New product CMF engineering design: make the link between ID/CMF design and manufacturing to achieve optimal user experiences and manufacturability. 

  • Translate the concept descriptions from Design and Marketing into feasible/achievable engineering activities.

  • Partnering with manufacturing teams to ensure robust CMF manufacturing processes, design for mass production and continuous improvement.

  • Define reliability testing requirements, protocol, and equipment.

  • Work with x-functions to ensure that CMF specifications met the product requirements

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest CMF trends and technologies

  • Independently resolve complex CMF issues, challenges, and accomplish CMF objectives independently within a project team. Acts as a source of technical expertise to others in the CMF technical area. Explain difficult concepts to a variety of audiences and ensure meaning is understood.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent or above, in a related field, such as Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering

  • 3+ years of experience in material development, decoration processes, color development area,  preferably in the CMF industry.

  • Candidates with a proficient level of both written and spoken English

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of materials science, post decoration processes like painting, printing, anodizing,. ME experience is preferred.

  • Experience with fabric, PU industry and related post processes like fabric wrapping, laser, lamination;

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally
