Computational Linguist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linguist to join our team and provide expert support for our Language Model (LLM) and Generative AI initiatives. As a Senior Linguist, you will play a key role in enhancing the linguistic capabilities of our AI systems, ensuring accurate and contextually appropriate language generation. This is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of natural language processing, linguistics, and machine learning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in linguistic research, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Consult with Linguistic Project Manager and other Natural Language Expert Researchers to assist the variety of NLP projects. This includes: - Reviewing and annotating linguistic data - Summarizing LLM based data - Providing linguistic analysis and expertise for semantic, syntactic and morphological projects - Consulting with researchers and engineers on the development of linguistic databases
• Conduct linguistic research and analysis to identify and address language-related challenges and improve the performance of our AI systems.
• Develop and implement linguistic models, algorithms, and methodologies to optimize language generation and improve the overall linguistic quality of our AI products.
• Analyze and evaluate the performance of our AI systems through rigorous testing and experimentation, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with the data team to collect and annotate linguistic data, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the training datasets.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in natural language processing, machine learning, and linguistics, and apply this knowledge to enhance our AI systems.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior linguists and data scientists, sharing your expertise and helping to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Qualifications:

• Master's in Linguistics (English), Computational Linguistics, Natural Language Processing, or a related field or PHD in Linguistics.

Experience

• Preferably Minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with natural language processing, linguistic modeling, or related fields. Fresher’s with good Linguistics knowledge is accepted
• Experience specializing in semantics, syntax, morphology and lexicography
• Extensive knowledge and expertise in linguistic analysis, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and their application to language processing tasks.
• Proficient in programming languages commonly used in natural language processing, such as Python or Java.
• Familiarity with deep learning models for natural language understanding and generation, such as Transformers or recurrent neural networks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to overcome linguistic challenges.

Communication Skills (Speaking/Writing -

• Excellent Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality linguistic solutions and contributing to the development of AI systems.
