Penrose Studios is seeking a Console Engineer to build a platform for immersive stories. The role involves developing content for game consoles, specifically Playstation, and managing the e-commerce layer for virtual reality experiences. Responsibilities include creating downloadable content infrastructure, overseeing TRC approval, creating a multi-platform build system, and developing interactive VR content. The ideal candidate will have experience with Playstation, TRC approval, downloadable content systems, C++, and Playstation e-commerce.
Must have:
  • Shipped at least 1 title on the Playstation platform
  • Direct experience with Sony’s TRC approval process
  • Experience developing downloadable content systems
  • Strong knowledge of C++
  • Experience with the Sony Playstation e-commerce platform
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate effectively
Good to have:
  • 5+ years of console game development
  • Experience developing for and using Unreal Engine
  • Knowledge of computer graphics and gameplay development
  • Experience with SDKs and writing plugins for third party applications
  • Experience developing cross platform software

Job Details

Penrose Studios crafts ground-breaking immersive stories, and needs your help building a platform for this new artistic medium. We are looking for people with deep experience developing content for game consoles.  You will be utilizing your skills to help deliver virtual reality experiences on consoles, such as the Playstation.  You will be responsible for the e-commerce layer for our experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Create Unreal Engine-based downloadable content infrastructure for a Playstation title
  • Oversee the TRC requirement approval process for a Playstation title
  • Help create a multi-platform build and release system for our applications
  • Develop interactive content for virtual reality experiences

Requirements

  • Shipped at least 1 title on the Playstation platform
