Job Description

As an Environment Artist I at Nintendo Software Technology, you'll contribute to the creation of 3D content for games, meeting quality and direction specifications. Responsibilities include creating illustrations, 3D models, textures for environments and objects, and animations for 2D/3D assets. Proficiency in commercial and Nintendo's proprietary art tools is crucial, along with implementing gameplay features aligned with design goals. The role requires a minimum of one year of professional experience in game development (shipping at least one game) and proven skills in 3D/2D art production. Experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, or proprietary) and software like Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, is necessary. Excellent communication and adaptability to feedback are essential.

Nintendo Software Technology is a tight-knit game development studio located in Redmond, WA. As an Environment Artist, you will have proven Substance Designer experience and a deep passion for stylized texture authoring for hard surface and organic subjects. If this sounds like you then we’d love to see your portfolio!

  
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Participates in the creation of 3D content that meets required direction and quality specifications.
  • Participates in assigned illustrations, 3D models, and textures for environments and objects.
  • Participates in assigned animations for 3D and 2D assets.
  • Utilizes and maintains proficient knowledge of required commercial and Nintendo proprietary art production tools.
  • Implements game play features aligned to game design goals.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS 
 
 
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional experience having shipped at least 1 game.
  • Proven artistic and technical skills in basic 3D and or 2D art production.
  • Experienced with game development pipelines and game engines (E.g. Unreal, Unity or a proprietary engine).
  • Proven proficiency with commercial art production software (E.g. Photoshop, Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter, etc).
  • Capable of excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Can respond to feedback and iterations quickly and efficiently.
  • Undergraduate degree in art or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
** This is a CONTRACT position
 
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This contract position has a base pay range of $31.00 - $47.00 per hour and is eligible for benefits through the employing agency. Agency benefits may include medical, dental and vision, 401(k), basic/supplemental life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, health and dependent care spending accounts, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, paid sick leave, and up to 6 paid holidays per year. All benefits are subject to elections, eligibility requirements, plan and program terms. Benefits offerings will be confirmed at the time of offer by the employing agency, and may differ depending on the employing agency partner.
