A Project Manager at MUFG IS is an influential change agent/trusted advisor with business and technology stakeholders, driving and implementing organizational priorities that add value. Project Managers play a key role in the projects’ early initiation phase (i.e., business case development) to the structuring of the project, and implementation and hand off to BAU. To be effective in their role, Project Managers must
(1) be resourceful and be strong relationship managers; Building strong working relationships with the project and organizational stakeholders at every level of the organization must be second nature,
(2) Bring a blend of strong execution expertise and business knowledge,
(3) be adept at mitigating and managing risk,
(4) have excellent communication, impact/influence and facilitation abilities.
As a member of the Projects Department, the Project Manager reports to a Projects Lead. In their day to day, the Project Manager directs and controls a variety of projects throughout a global organization, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, within budget using project management best practices to ensure the highest level of quality. Also key is implementing effective governance throughout the project lifecycle and managing the day-to-day execution aspects of the projects – Plan, budget, RAID, Resource and Status Updates - to ensure project objectives are achieved. Project Managers also provide portfolio and resource planning and reporting.
