In this role, you will assist in the design of control algorithms, implement embedded code, run Simulink-based workflows, and help test/validate controls on benches and HIL/SIL rigs. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and architects for system-level integration while staying focused on core controls engineering tasks.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or another related field.
  • 0-2 years experiences with control systems, automation, or embedded programming.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink for control modeling and simulation.
  • Coding experience in C/C++ and/or Python for embedded applications.
  • Familiarity with unit testing, integration testing, and Git.
  • Exposure to HIL/SIL environments and test automation (preferred).
  • Basics of communications (CAN, UDP/TCP), RTOS concepts, and sensor/actuator interfacing (preferred).
  • Introductory experience with DFMEA/SFMEA and safety-related design practices (preferred).

What will your typical day look like?

  • Design and implement control algorithms for sensors, actuators, and I/O on embedded systems.
  • Develop production-quality code in C/C++ and/or Python; use MATLAB/Simulink for modeling and simulation.
  • Configure real-time tasks and basic communications (e.g., CAN, Ethernet) to ensure reliable control behavior.
  • Translate functional requirements into software architecture, defining modules, interfaces, and data flows.
  • Develop and execute automated tests including unit tests, Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL).
  • Troubleshoot control systems (signal integrity, timing, communication issues) and drive corrective actions.
  • Write clear control system requirements with verification methods and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (controls, embedded software, hardware, test) using Git and issue tracking tools.
  • Participate in design reviews, document decisions, and contribute to risk mitigation efforts (e.g., DFMEA).
  • Support integration and validation of control systems at system boundaries, ensuring timing and fail-safe behavior.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

Relocation assistance may be provided if eligibility requirements are met.
