Position Summary:

Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly compilation and reporting of key performance indicators. Performs daily review of inventory and weekly and monthly inventory reconciliations. Also performs variance analysis of labor, usage variances and overhead expenses. Participates in the development of annual plant budgets and assist in the maintenance of the standard cost system. Supports the maintenance of standard costs (ECN’s) in Oracle ERP system is an integral part of this role. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Standard cost roll up for Engineering Change Notifications (ECN’s) of new product introduced 
• Reviews and analyzes the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying accounting principles that support revenue recognition 
• Annual physical inventory 
• Work order review and closure 
• Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue 
• Participates in systems upgrades and enhancements as necessary 
• Participates in the month- and quarter- end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department 
• Prepares journal entries and maintains account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met 
• Establishes controls necessary to ensure that revenue forecasts, deferred revenue balances and revenue accounting execution are compliant with SOX, company policy and GAAP 
• Prepares and maintains reports / schedules for senior management, prepare schedules requested by internal customers 

Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:

·       Advanced Excel experience required 

• Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management 

·       Ability to manage complexity well and demonstrated experience managing across functions and businesses to accomplish large scale goals in a large, public company environment 

·       Confidence, good judgment, energy and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment across all levels of management and across business units and functions 

·       Strong end-to-end process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organizational skills and problem-solving skills 

·       Continuously improve work procedures and processes, including documentation, process mapping and efficiency  

·       Excellent analytical and organizational skills, time prioritization and risk assessment 

·       Excellent  presentation and influencing skills, including the ability to raise issues appropriately to the right level internally and externally to resolve 

Position Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related area of study

Experience: 

1+ years of Cost Accounting and GL experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment)

Oracle ERP experience, specifically using the manufacturing model is required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Office Environment

Ability to sit for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
