- Provides consultation into the negotiation, preparation, and administration of complex company-wide contracts, including services agreements, SaaS, and software license agreements.
- Communicates with and directs outside contacts, including outside counsel, with respect to regulatory compliance, intellectual property and/or contract matters.
- May assign, monitor, and reviews the work of assigned staff.
- Assists with budget development.
- Reviews company activities and policies for legal compliance and adherence to domestic and foreign governmental policies and regulations.
- Provides legal advice to and responds to various inquiries from company departments, subsidiaries and affiliates.
- Conducts in-house training seminars.
- Maintains knowledge of current legal issues.
- Five (5) years of experience as a practicing lawyer (private, public or corporate).
- Strong understanding of intellectual property and contracts law.
- Working knowledge of a variety of legal areas including commercial law and litigation.
- Extensive document drafting and negotiation experience, including technology agreements and other commercial agreements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity and experience with open source software helpful, but not required.
- Strong knowledge of video game industry and Nintendo products helpful, but not required.
- Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job family or field.
- Law degree.
- Membership in the Washington State Bar Association, or other comparable state qualification.
