DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Responsible for legal advice on complex intellectual property issues.

  • Prepares legal documents, settlement agreements, written reports, presentations and updates relevant to a global executive audience.

  • Communicates with parent company, outside contacts, including outside counsel, partner companies, industry representatives, governmental representatives, and other parties as needed.

  • Pursues and maintains most current knowledge of company business, products and technology.

  • Builds cross-functional relationships with business teams as well as other internal stakeholders.

  • Develops and delivers training materials for internal audiences, but could also include external audiences.

  • Communicates with and directs outside contacts, including outside counsel and consultants, on intellectual property matters.

  • Assists with other IP tasks in support of company objectives as needed.

  • Assists with budget development and global compliance.

  • May have direct or indirect responsibilities for leading and developing a team.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Four or more years related experience.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Maintains knowledge of current legal issues in the area of intellectual property.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

  • Recognized as an expert within the company and requires in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job family and broad knowledge of other job families within the function.

  • Law degree and membership in the Washington State Bar Association, or other comparable state qualification required.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $164,500 - $296,000 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
