Job Details

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix is building the world’s leading entertainment platform, offering great films, series, games and live events that push the boundaries of storytelling and delight members of all ages and tastes across the world. Our Live Creative team is responsible for promotional creative assets on Netflix. We are part of the larger Product Discovery & Promotion team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Creative Strategist to join our PDP Live team. We partner with Content creators, Marketing, Product Design and many other teams to define how Live events are creatively represented on Netflix to members around the world.  Our purpose is to deliver the most compelling and authentic discovery experience through artwork, video, and copy to connect our millions of global subscribers to content they will love.

At its core, the Strategist role is grounded in achieving creative excellence for all the promotional assets that represent the Live catalog. This position uses both the left and right brain equally and requires a personality and skill set that can easily go from art to science and back again. This role will marry live entertainment and visual storytelling with data and innovation to develop creative for touch points across the entire Netflix product experience. Shepherding the on-product creative campaigns from greenlight to launch (and beyond) is ultimately the Strategist’s responsibility, one that is incredibly meaningful to engagement and ongoing learnings.

There is no “normal day” in Live and content will range from sports to entertainment and more, creating a dynamic environment and ample opportunity to contribute in a variety of ways: from context-gathering, to the formation of deeply intentional creative strategies, to fostering an open and collaborative environment for brainstorms, to the socialization of work throughout development with multiple stakeholder teams to ensure a seamless launch on a global scale. Our collaborative process requires flexibility and excellent judgment, so the ideal candidate is curious, creatively-savvy and passionate about bringing impactful experiences to life.

Responsibilities

The Strategist is an arbiter of creative excellence and a central hub of knowledge for each Live event campaign, from creative development to product deployment across multiple platforms.  You will leverage campaign elements from cross-functional teams as well as those created internally and by external/agency partners. You will build and strengthen relationships while helping to shape the creative look and feel of each event.

We introduce new IP to the world and also handle-with-care the introduction of known IP into our member experience, building awareness and anticipation through static artwork, video, and textual evidence. Garnering a deep understanding of product strategy and our evolving member experience will be inherent to your success as well.

Some examples of day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Writing clear, effective creative briefs grounded in data, insights and a strong perspective

  • Collaborating with agencies, graphic designers, motion designers, editors and writers to elevate the creative and enhance content discovery and choosing

  • Driving milestones of the creative process effectively to ensure timely and accurate development, socialization, and delivery of assets

  • Leading onboarding meetings with content creators, partners and talent to introduce the Netflix product and our unique approach

  • Presenting the team’s work to a variety of stakeholders, in large and small forums

  • Forming hypotheses, reviewing creative performance metrics, identifying trends, staying connected to the Live landscape and helping shape best practices for better creative

  • Understanding business objectives and the holistic impact of creative on Netflix, ensuring that content is presented with excellence across all Netflix products

Requirements

  • Solid experience working in a creative digital environment

  • Live content  experience and a passion for sports, entertainment, and streaming

  • Marketing, merchandising, production or creative  experience in the streaming industry

  • Previous experience in a flexible, fast-paced asset management or project management role handling a high volume of projects

  • Deep understanding of the creative process and the ability to translate feedback to develop into finalized assets

  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and connect the dots in a fast-paced environment

  • The courage to challenge conventional thinking and the maturity to give and accept feedback with clarity and kindness

  • Experience working across diverse teams, backgrounds and perspectives

  • Excel as an individual contributor with global purview

  • The ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, or whenever live content happens

  • Understand, advocate, and embody the company’s values and team goals
