Summary

The Crew Chief at Disney Aviation Group is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of assigned aircraft. This includes tracking and scheduling maintenance, performing inspections (pre-flight, post-flight, scheduled), preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, ordering parts, and addressing discrepancies. The role requires collaboration with the Director of Maintenance and flight crews to ensure aircraft readiness and compliance with all regulations (Disney Aviation Operations Manual, Aircraft Manufacturers Manuals, FAA Regulations). The Crew Chief also maintains technical data, updates manuals, and works various shifts to accommodate aircraft schedules.
Must have:
  • 5+ years aircraft maintenance experience
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • Proficiency in aircraft maintenance procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible shifts
Good to have:
  • Avionics experience
  • CMP, CAMP, Corridor certifications
  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance

Job Summary:

About the Role and the Team

Disney Aviation Group is seeking a Crew Chief to join our team. The Crew Chief is a highly motivated self-starter that can evaluate and prioritize the needs of the assigned aircraft taking into consideration the aircraft schedule. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Crew Chief will communicate daily with the Director to review priorities on all the aircraft and receive direction on the highest priority for the department as well as monitor the progress of the tasks being worked.

What you will do

  • Responsible for the tracking, scheduling, and completion of the maintenance requirements for the assigned aircraft.
  • Must be capable of performing in house maintenance on all company aircraft.
  • Ensure all maintenance performed on the aircraft conforms to the standards set forth in the Disney Aviation Operations Manual, Aircraft Manufacturers Manuals, FAA Regulations and best industry practices.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, pre and post flight inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts ordering and discrepancy corrective action on all company aircraft.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to schedule daily maintenance on the assigned aircraft for department visibility of aircraft availability.
  • Work various shifts to accommodate aircraft schedule.
  • Required to Interface directly with flight crews to assess and resolve any aircraft discrepancies.
  • Update aircraft inspection status documents. Ensure tracking systems are brought up to date following the completion of maintenance on assigned aircraft.
  • Maintain all technical data and logs necessary to ensure compliance with Disney Aviation Maintenance Department Standards as well as FAA Regulations.
  • Revise and update aircraft maintenance manuals, subscriptions, and any other relevant publications as necessary
  • Perform additional duties as advised by the Director of Maintenance.
     

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years proven experience and factory training on aircraft operated (with Avionics experience preferred)
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant License
  • Candidate must have been continuously and actively engaged in performing maintenance and exercising their A&P privileges for the past 24 months.
  • CMP, CAMP, Corridor
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to speak and write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
     

Education

  • Field of study in Aviation Maintenance
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
     

Preferred Education

  • Associates degree

The hiring range for this position in California is $128,000.00 - $233,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
