Job Description

As a Customer Engineer, you'll collaborate with technical teams to showcase Google Cloud's capabilities to clients. Responsibilities include identifying business and technical needs, designing client solutions, leading technical projects, and delivering product messaging through presentations, demonstrations, and documentation. You will also drive recommendations on integration strategies and enterprise architectures, ensuring optimal Google Cloud platform effectiveness. This involves working directly with prospective customers and partners, helping them design architectures, conduct proof-of-concepts, and overcome technical challenges. Travel to client sites and events will be required.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years cloud native architecture experience
  • Experience presenting to technical and executive stakeholders
  • Experience with Federal Civilian customers
  • Lead technical projects and support bid responses
Good to have:
  • Experience developing scalable architectures using APIs, microservices, PaaS, and container orchestration
  • Cloud migration experience
  • Security knowledge (encryption, identity management, access control)
  • FedRAMP/FISMA knowledge
  • Google Cloud Platform expertise

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience in engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience in promoting technology solutions to the Federal Civilian customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing scalable architectures and mission solutions using Application programming interface (API) management, microservice frameworks, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms.
  • Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
  • Experience with security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and engagement testing.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, especially Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) or Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work within solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$180,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct full technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google Cloud Platform by using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google Cloud platform effectiveness.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events as needed.
