Job Description

As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll play a key role in helping leading companies leverage the power of cloud computing. You'll work with educational institutions, government agencies, and businesses to enhance their productivity, mobility, and collaboration using Google Cloud products. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, supporting customer relationships through briefings and proof-of-concept work, demonstrating product integrations, recommending integration strategies and architectures, and traveling to customer sites and events. You'll collaborate with internal teams to stay abreast of industry trends and improve Google Cloud products. The role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and experience in a customer-facing role within a cloud computing environment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in sales engineering or technical consulting
  • Cloud computing experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to present to senior audiences
Good to have:
  • Master's degree in a technical field
  • Understanding of Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS
  • Experience with Google Workspace

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience as a sales engineer or technical consultant in a cloud computing environment or in a customer-facing role (including working as a member of a professional services or systems engineering team).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a technical field.
  • Understanding of Big Data, PaaS, and IaaS terminology.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and present Google Workspace value to senior audiences CxOs, Line of Business, and technology stakeholders of partners and customers’ organizations.
  • Demonstrated record of working in a similar position (e.g., Technical Sales Engineer, Partner Engineer, etc.) in a cloud computing environment or equivalent experience in a customer or partner-facing role (including working as a member of a Professional Services, Solutions Architect or Systems Engineering team).

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Support the technical relationship with Google’s customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination and prioritization of solutions impacting customer adoption of Google Cloud.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure in order to implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.
