Job Description

As an Analytics Engineer at Veeam, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data marts, pipelines, and data processes. Your tasks will include designing and maintaining scalable data marts, collaborating with stakeholders, developing data models, implementing ETL processes, and ensuring the reliability of data systems. You will also monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines while documenting data systems.
Must have:
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with databases.
  • Experience building and deploying data processes in the cloud.
  • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data modeling.
  • Good written and oral English (B2 or higher).
Good to have:
  • Experience with Databricks and Spark
  • Experience with Azure cloud
  • Experience with Postgres or Vertica
  • Experience with Python or Kotlin
  • Experience with Salesforce data
  • Experience building datasets for analytics and reporting tools

Job Description:

Veeam Software is the leader in data backup, recovery, and ransomware protection with over 400,000 customers world-wide.

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our internal and international Data Management team. As an Analytics Engineer, you will be part of the team transforming and delivering data for our Data Science, Analytics, and Reporting team use. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data marts, pipelines, and data processes. This role requires a blend of strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and a understanding of business processes.

Your tasks will include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable data marts and transformation processes 
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements
  • Develop and optimize data models and schemas to ensure data is stored efficiently and can be retrieved and analyzed quickly
  • Implement ETL processes and frameworks to transform raw data from multiple sources into structured formats suitable for analysis
  • Work closely with our internal Data, Architecture, and DevOps teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of data systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, and look for opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Document data systems, data flow, and data processes

What we expect from you:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with database and data warehouse systems
  • Experience building and deploying data processes in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Experience in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)
  • Understanding of best practices in designing ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data warehousing
  • Good written and oral English (B2 or higher)

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Databricks and Spark
  • Experience with Azure cloud
  • Experience with Postgres or Vertica
  • Experience with Python or Kotlin
  • Experience with Salesforce data
  • Experience building datasets for analytics and reporting tools
