Data Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Technology team in Perth and are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join the team. 

The Data engineer will deliver and maintain data products that delight our customers and stakeholders. Support product teams to ensure trusted and high impact data products; “build it, ship it and run it”.

Our current analytics stack includes Snowflake, Data Bricks, AWS (including S3 and Redshift), Python and SQL.

What you will bring to the role:

• Degree in Computer Science or 3+ years of equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Python, Scala, or similar languages.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering concepts and best practices including testing and performance tuning
• Expertise in data modeling for data warehouses, with knowledge of Kimball, Medallion architecture, or similar frameworks.
• Experience in implementing ETL (or ELT) best practices at scale
• Hands-on experience managing large-scale object storage for both structured and unstructured data (e.g., Data Lake, Delta Lake).
• Familiarity with the latest OSS, cloud, containerisation, query languages and database technologies 
• Experience with both streaming and batch data processing (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kinesis, Kafka) is a plus.
