As a Data Engineer in Twitch's Monetization organization, you'll build and maintain robust data pipelines to make Twitch's massive datasets accessible and understandable for various stakeholders. Responsibilities include collaborating with data scientists and engineers to create data architectures and pipelines, enhancing data accessibility through data cubes and sharing solutions, and developing scalable, automated, and fault-tolerant data solutions using technologies like Spark, EMR, Python, Redshift, Glue, and S3. You'll translate data requirements into actionable plans and ensure data quality. This role can be based in San Francisco, Seattle, Irvine, or New York City.
Must have:
  • 1+ year Data Engineering/Science/Software experience
  • SQL expertise in building data pipelines
  • Translate data requirements into plans
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Knowledge of data quality best practices
Good to have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in relevant field
  • Experience with Python, Java, or R
  • Familiarity with Twitch

About the Role

As a data engineer in the Monetization organization you will work on making Twitch’s massive data sets robust and consumable by people around the company. You’ll work with a team of other data engineers to build and maintain data pipelines that allow our stakeholders to understand our business.

We’re a distributed team with members all over the country. You can work from Twitch’s  headquarters in San Francisco, CA;  or from one of our hub locations in Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; or New York City, NY.

You Will:

  • Work closely with data scientists and engineers to create robust data architectures and pipelines.
  •  Simplify and enhance the accessibility, clarity, and usability of large and  complex datasets through the development of data cubes and data sharing solutions
  • Develop and manage scalable, automated, and fault-tolerant data solutions using technologies such as Spark, EMR, Python, Redshift, Glue, and S3.

You Have:

  • 1+ year of experience working in a data engineering, data science, or software engineering capacity
  • Deep expertise in writing and maintaining robust data pipelines in SQL
  • Ability to turn data requirements from stakeholders into actionable plans
  • Extensive experience with cloud computing tools, like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of data quality best practices

Bonus Points

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, statistics, information systems, or a related field
  • Experience with a  scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)
  • Familiarity and interest in Twitch

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
