One of Us, a London-based VFX studio, is seeking a Data Operator. The ideal candidate will have strong data management skills, experience with render farm management, and a keen eye for detail. Must have experience with file management, data ingestion, and delivering show deliverables.

One Of Us is a visual effects studio founded in London in 2004 by co-directors Rachael Penfold, Dominic Parker and Tom Debenham.

From breathtaking fantasy landscapes to gripping action sequences, our portfolio spans a diverse range of genres and award winning projects such as Pinocchio, The Witcher and The Crown.

One of Us is looking for a Data Operator to join the team at our London studio.  Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly organised and have a general understanding of the importance of data management within the VFX pipeline. They must be a self-motivated team player with good communication skills and attention to detail.

You will be working in a collaborative and welcoming environment within a friendly community of experienced and creative supervisors, leads and artists of all disciplines. This role will involve working on a rotational shift pattern to suit the operational needs of shows in production.

 

Responsibilities:

Render Farm Management

  • Monitoring and prioritising jobs in the render queue according to project requirements
  • Alerting artists to any and all problems with renders
  • Escalating render issues to technical support teams


File Management

  • Downloading and uploading data as per production requests
  • Using automated data tools to ingest material from clients into the studio network
  • Liaising with technical support teams in the case of issues with downloads, ingestions, deliveries
  • Creating the correct show deliverables as per the tech spec of that show and ensuring these are thoroughly tested
  • Managing data both online, near line and offline, archive and restore data via the tape robot
  • Keeping production informed of all task status and advise about any potential conflicts or delays
  • Various other tech duties like, creating and management of FTP sites


What we are looking for:

  • Capacity to take responsibility and ability to manage and prioritise time and workload
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and learn on the job
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve
  • Ability to record information accurately and produce reports
  • Basic knowledge of film and related processes
  • Strong desire to work in film post production

Studio Location:

We have a great office on Tabernacle St near Old Street Station, where our artists are based.


One of Us require candidates to reside in the UK or France, depending on the location of the role, or must be willing to relocate for the duration of the contract. All candidates must disclose if they have an existing Right to Work in the relevant country, or would require sponsorship support, i.e. Visa..
