Job Description

Tesla's Legal group seeks a Data Privacy Analyst in Amsterdam to contribute to their global privacy program. Responsibilities include designing, maintaining, and improving the program; identifying strategic priorities related to privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and compliance; establishing and managing compliance tools and guidelines; handling data requests and ensuring legal compliance; reviewing and mitigating privacy risks in Tesla products and services; and supporting the global privacy team on various projects. The role involves advising internal teams and external customers on data protection matters, working with multiple teams to meet deadlines, and researching evolving privacy laws. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have strong execution and project management skills, and excellent communication abilities.

What to Expect

As a part of our Legal group, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on a wide variety of data protection issues impacting Tesla’s business and products globally. You will be empowered to support the operational success of Tesla’s global privacy program ensuring efficient management and delivery of tasks and deadlines as driven by regulatory, statutory or other requirements.  

The privacy legal team advises the business on data privacy matters on a global scale, including but not limited to GDPR and CCPA, by facilitating compliance and doing so in a way that adds value to our mission. We are seeking a data privacy analyst who will be an integral part of our global compliance efforts working in a multicultural environment. The role involves advising internal business teams on the various data protection related risks, obligations, and other privacy legal matters, as well as interacting with our external customers on all privacy related issues and queries. 

This is a full-time position, to be based in our Amsterdam office.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive the design, maintenance, and improvement of Tesla’s global privacy program
  • Identify strategic priorities by keeping up with emerging legislation, current trends, and best practices related to privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and compliance
  • Establish and manage tools, guidelines and playbooks for documenting and tracking compliance with Tesla's global legal obligations, including privacy impact assessments and intake management, initial privacy reviews, and assistance with resulting privacy and data protection controls
  • Handling data requests, ensuring compliance with the relevant laws and regulations by working with other teams to meet regulatory deadlines. Learning about our connected products, working with authorities, technical experts and other business teams
  • Review and mitigate privacy risks in connection with Tesla vehicle and energy products, services and other offerings. Supporting members of the global privacy team with various projects and tasks
  • In whatever you do, we expect you to look for improvement opportunities. We are not afraid of making radical changes to the way we work if this is needed to enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance. But often smaller changes or fine-tuning of our processes is what we need to achieve a positive impact
  • Researching specific areas of law which are critical for our compliance efforts as the privacy legal landscape is rapidly evolving, in order to understand how it impacts us and what actions we may have to take to remain compliant
What You’ll Bring
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues
  • Detail-oriented but at the same time with the ability to see the big picture and how even a small change can impact many other areas of the business
  • Strong execution and project management skills and ability to corral stakeholders from across the organization on cross-functional projects
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to present information/complex matters clearly, and concisely
  • Flexibility when handling directional changes and concurrently manage multiple large-scale programs
  • Strong English skills, other languages are preferred
