The Database Administrator (DBA) will design data views, integrate business data sources, and streamline data entry workflows to create efficient BI solutions. Responsibilities include creating robust data views, integrating data from SharePoint and MS Teams, developing user-friendly interfaces, collaborating with the Data Master, and troubleshooting issues. The role requires expertise in data lake architecture, data integration, SharePoint, Power BI, and custom interface development. The DBA will ensure data quality and efficient data pipelines. This role contributes to the BI environment and the overall data management strategy.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA). The ideal candidate will have strong DBA experience and be familiar with data lakes, data integrations, SharePoint, and Power BI. This role involves designing data views, integrating business data sources, and streamlining data entry workflows to enable efficient and scalable BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Build Data Views

  2. Create robust data views within the organization’s data lake to support BI visualization development by the Data Master.

  3. Data Integration and Import

  4. Collaborate with business owners to ingest existing data from spreadsheets stored in SharePoint and MS Teams into the centralized data lake.

  5. Ensure accurate mapping, formatting, and validation of imported data.

  6. Interface Development

  7. Develop user-friendly interfaces that enable business users to input data directly into the data lake.

  8. Reduce reliance on spreadsheets by implementing intuitive and scalable data entry solutions.

  9. Collaboration and Monitoring

  10. Work closely with the Data Master to ensure all data pipelines and integrations function as expected.

  11. Troubleshoot issues and maintain high standards for data quality and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.

  • Strong expertise in data lake architecture and data integration techniques.

  • Proficiency with SharePoint, MS Teams, and managing spreadsheet-based data.

  • Familiarity with Power BI and supporting BI environments.

  • Experience developing custom data input interfaces (e.g., web forms, apps, or integrated tools).

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in BI modernization or digital transformation projects.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Synapse, or similar cloud platforms.

  • Background in working with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders and BI developers.
