Job Description

The Deal Desk Analyst role in Japan supports the global Sales team in structuring optimized deals. Key responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert, driving operational consistency, collaborating on deal structuring, advising on contract options, managing complex deals, organizing business justification, elevating issues, identifying trends, clarifying policies, and training users. The role involves working with Sales, CSMs, and Account Executives to close deals and ensure compliance.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance, Deal Desk, or Sales Operations role.
  • Experience in an Enterprise B2B software sales environment with SaaS agreements.
  • Experience in drafting/analyzing multi-element sales agreements.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to build strong working relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluent or native ability in Japanese and English
Good to have:
  • Previous hands-on experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) and ERP (Netsuite).
  • Exposure to CPQ and Contract Lifecycle Management process.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Deal Desk Analyst role in Japan is a strategic function designed to support the global Sales team in structuring optimized deals that mutually benefit Domo and its customers. The position is designed to drive large, complex, and non-standard sales opportunities to closure by providing Sales and Renewal teams with business process and policy insights as well as strategic and operational support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as a subject matter expert on deal structuring, processes, and policies
  • Drive operational consistency by being a CPQ power user
  • Collaborating with leadership, CSMs, and Account Executives to develop structuring and pricing strategies for complex transactions
  • Advising users on contract objection-handling techniques, alternative contract options, and value propositioning to help close deals
  • Managing complex, non-standard deals through the deal review process to assess risk, to ensure quality assurance, business, and operational compliance, and optimal deal structure and pricing response
  • Organizing and communicating business justification for non-standard terms to cross-functional stakeholders and direct-line approvers
  • Elevating specialized issues to appropriate business partners for resolution and approval
  • Identifying deal structuring trends based on sales segment or industry vertical
  • Clarifying, educating, and gathering feedback from the sales team regarding policies
  • Participate in testing enhancements to tools like Salesforce and CPQ
  • Training users on new processes

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of experience in a Finance, Deal Desk, Legal, or Sales Operations role
  • Experience in an Enterprise B2B software sales environment with a proven understanding of SaaS agreements
  • Experience in drafting/analyzing multi-element sales agreements, including subscription, services, and support
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, combined with strong business judgment and an ability to present analysis in a clear and compelling manner
  • Demonstrated capability to build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating under pressure
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous hands-on experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) and ERP (Netsuite) - highly preferred
  • Exposure to CPQ and Contract Lifecycle Management process is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or ability to prove equivalent experience required
  • Ability to communicate at a fluent or native ability (verbally and in writing) in Japanese and English
