The Deputy Weekend Editor plays a central role in shaping the National desk’s 24/7 report, working with editors and correspondents to coordinate coverage of both breaking news and planned events, and ensuring a stream of enterprise and feature stories from across the country to drive the weekend.
The Deputy Weekend editor has experience working independently and understands how to set priorities when breaking news demands attention. You are comfortable being the last set of eyes on a story before publication and proficient in all aspects of digital production.
This is a hybrid position based in New York, reporting to the Weekend Editor and requires regular attendance in the office each week per your departmental guidance.
