Your mission

We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to support the day to day IT and Enterprise tooling needs of our employees. Your primary role is to be an informative and supportive first point of contact, responsible for assisting all our staff in making the best use of technology and tooling in their different roles. As part of this, you will be responsible to providing a level of IT service delivery that meets our agreed internal company SLAs.

You will also assist with the planning and migration to a suite of new enterprise tooling applications and services, which will be using a combination of both on-premise and cloud based solutions.

What you'll do

  • Provide computer systems troubleshooting and support to corporate user base of approx. 150 users across multiple offices: Mac and Linux.
  • Respond to any IT related issues that may arise and work with external service providers and vendors where required, ensuring that SLAs are being met
  • Provide timely and consistent support, acknowledging and recording all issues and requests.
  • Handle network and desktop setup for new Employees/Visitors and office moves.
  • Assist with the migration to a suite of new enterprise tooling applications and services, which will be using a combination of both on-premise and cloud based solutions.
  • Assist with the implementation the short-term and long-term company IT and Enterprise tooling strategy and roadmap, aligned with the company's goals and priorities
  • Work closely with security teams to establish and enforce security standards, policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Remote management of users' equipment (laptops, mobiles, etc.) ensuring machines have the latest security patches and comply with company policies.
  • Handle telephony / video conferencing services (Desk, soft phones and mobile) issues for current and new users.
  • Manage hardware inventory and purchasing requests.
  • Manage printers queues systems.
  • Creating documentation for corporate policies and processes and providing IT and Enterprise tooling training for all company employees.
  • Support backup and restore policy of users equipment.
  • Optimise and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, customers and delivery teams on IT related matters

What you'll bring

  • Minimum 2 – 3 years of experience in a Desktop support\Technical Support role.
  • Strong understanding of hardware, operating systems (Windows/Mac/Linux), and networking principles.
  • Proven experience administering: Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office 2007-2016, MacOS and Linux.
  • Experience with device management systems like MDM (Jamf, Airwatch), Apple Business Manager and SCCM/MDT
  • Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls) and experience managing Ubiquity Unifi based network tooling.
  • Working knowledge of IT and networking security principles, frameworks, standards and best practices.
  • Strong working knowledge of setting up and managing Active Directory / LDAP
  • Experience in providing training to technical and non-technical staff on the usage of IT equipment and enterprise tooling.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and work well under pressure as part of a team environment and independently.
  • Full English professional proficiency, with excellent verbal and written communication skills with high interpersonal skills and customer orientation.
  • Ability to work on a rota basis and outside of normal business hours when needed including international travel to office locations within the UK and Europe.
  • Some physical lifting and carrying of IT equipment will be required as part of day to day duties.
