Join the API Revolution at Gravitee—Where Innovation Meets Growth

Since our beginnings in 2015, Gravitee has grown into a global force, recognized as a 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant™ Leader for API Management. What started with four developers challenging the complexities of APIs has evolved into a revolutionary platform powering API and event stream ecosystems worldwide. We’re driving digital transformation for top enterprises, from Michelin to Roche to Blue Yonder and beyond, offering unmatched control over APIs and event streams.

Our rapid growth and leadership in API management are fueled by our team’s commitment to excellence and our core values:

  • Passion: We bring excitement to everything we do, constantly innovating to stay ahead of the curve.
  • Hold Nothing Back: We go above and beyond to help customers and teammates succeed, holding ourselves to the highest standards.
  • Professionalism: We believe in clear, respectful communication and prioritize the needs of our team and customers.

Join us on this journey. Be part of a team that’s redefining what’s possible in API management, and shaping the future of digital transformation. The possibilities are endless—be a part of the revolution!

THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS

Are you a recovering developer who loves APIs, community engagement, and telling stories that actually make sense to other engineers? Do you get a weird thrill from showing off working code in a demo? Are you the kind of person who can break down event-driven architecture over a beer or coffee without putting someone to sleep? If so, we should talk. We’re seeking a Developer Advocate to join and help us evangelize our solution to our audience.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Evangelize like a developer, not a sales rep. You’ll be the technical voice of Gravitee—writing blogs, building demos, speaking at events, and hanging out with the developer community (virtually or IRL).
  • Show, don’t tell. You’ll create code samples, tutorials, and GitHub repos that help devs actually understand our platform (because a marketing PDF isn’t gonna cut it).
  • Translate geek to business-speak. You’ll work with sales and marketing to make sure they don’t butcher technical messaging and can actually explain what Gravitee does.
  • Own product positioning & GTM for dev-heavy solutions. You'll shape how we talk about our API Gateway, Event-Native API Management, and Security offerings to technical audiences.
  • Work closely with engineering & product. Help define new features, gather developer feedback, and ensure we’re building things devs actually want.
  • Hack things together. Whether it’s a PoC, a workshop, or a hands-on demo, you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and write some code.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS - Additionally, these skills are not required, but preferable:

  • You were (or still are) a developer or at least have a highly technical background. Maybe you wrote production code, maybe you were a software engineer who realized you liked explaining tech more than shipping Jira tickets.
  • Solid understanding of APIs—RESTful, GraphQL, WebSockets, Kafka, MQTT—or enough curiosity to fake it till you make it.
  • You can write. Blogs, scripts, documentation, TikTok videos if you want to, you name it. If you have samples, show us!
  • Experience working with developer communities—whether through DevRel, content, meetups, or Discord chaos.
  • Technical chops in at least one of these: Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or Go. Bonus points for any AI + API knowledge.
  • You should expect to travel about 10% of your time including international travel
  • A strong sense of humor. Life’s too short for boring tech marketing.

DESIRED SKILLS - Additionally, these skills are not required, but preferable:

  • Experience in API Management, API Security, or Open Source.
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or Gravitee/Kong/Tyk/Apigee.
  • You’ve spoken at conferences or led technical workshops.

Send us something cool you’ve written (blog, GitHub repo, video, etc.) along with your resume. Bonus points if you include a technical rant about APIs, Kafka, or AI.

AT GRAVITEE, YOU’LL GET…

    • Excellent medical coverage to keep your body and mind healthy
    • 15 days holiday/vacation in addition to in-country national holidays as well
    • 3 mental health days per year with an allowance toward a mood-boosting activity of your choice
    • Birthday off to celebrate your day
    • Learn and grow with our professional development allowance to be used to benefit your career
    • Quarterly outings and an annual offsites in an exciting locations
    • Ability to work for one of the fastest-growing companies and alongside some of the most talented people in the API technology sector
    • A meaningful, progressive, global company culture that is as fun as it is hardworking
    • Endless growth opportunities

At Gravitee, no employee or applicant will be treated less favourably on the grounds of their sex, marital status, race, colour, nationality or ethnic or national origin, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, pregnancy or maternity, marital or civil partner status, or religion or belief.
