Summary

Trek's DevOps team seeks a skilled engineer to streamline, simplify, and automate infrastructure and application development. Responsibilities include coding, testing, debugging, and documenting automation pipeline processes; collaborating with peers and customers; maintaining cloud-based infrastructure; improving monitoring and reporting systems; evaluating system architecture; and documenting work. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience building and automating systems, expertise in Azure and multi-cloud environments, and proficiency in configuration management and automation tools (Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, etc.). Experience with CI/CD, object-oriented programming (Java preferred), .NET frameworks, Docker/Microservices, and server-side development is crucial. The role offers opportunities for continuous learning and remote work.
Must have:
  • Automation pipeline experience

Position Description:

We are looking for someone to join our Trek DevOps team as we streamline, simplify, and automate Trek Infrastructure & Application Development. We are an agile team that enjoys the autonomy of a startup with the backing and experience of industry experts.

Structure as code is your motto and the world should be source controlled.

We are seeking experienced experts, but we are interested in entry-level resources, as well. Trek provides a flexible environment including the opportunity for remote working in this role

Position Responsibilities:

  • Code, create test plans, test, debug, and document existing and new automation pipeline processes  
  • Communicate face-to-face with their peers and customers in a participatory environment  
  • Work within a system dedicated to automation and zero-downtime deployments
  • Maintain cloud-based server infrastructure
  • Improve existing monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems to empower IT operations and business decisions
  • Evaluate software and overall system architecture from security, reliability, and scalability perspectives
  • Detail and communicate the awesome work you do

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience engineering/building/automating systems
  • Strong experience with Azure, along with multi-cloud and hybrid infrastructure concepts
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools like Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Puppet, etc.
  • Comfort in setting up continuous integration or continuous delivery systems
  • Experience and comfort writing code in a least one modern object-oriented language (Java preferred) and a familiarity with .NET frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, security, hardening, encryption standards
  • Docker/Microservices/Swarm/Azure Container Service, and AKS
  • Hands-on experience with server-side development and deployment (C#, IIS, SQL Server, Python, TeamCity)
  • Experience managing both Linux and Windows-based OS on virtual resources

Bonus Skills:

  • MySQL IaaS and Azure SQL
  • Experience with Atlassian’s suite of products and Azure DevOps
  • An interest in working in a rapidly growing environment and helping us create a strong DevOps culture
  • Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience working in a PCI compliant environment
  • Experience with Payment systems
