Job Description

The Digital Content Manager will optimize YouTube and Podcast channels by generating SEO-friendly metadata using YouTube best practices. Responsibilities include staging and publishing videos and podcasts, writing metadata with SEO tools, managing channel playlists, front page management, creating thumbnails and banners, collaborating with stakeholders, providing real-time publishing support, and reporting on video performance. The role also involves staying updated with YouTube best practices and collaborating with the team to refine best practices documents. This role will also assist with experiments and reporting on results to create and establish new best practices.
Must have:
  • 2+ years experience with digital publishing
  • Deep understanding of digital publishing best practices
  • Comfortable writing copy for millions of viewers
  • Experience using distribution and analytics tools
  • BA/BS degree in marketing or a related field
  • Experience using GSuite
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We are looking for: Advanced Systems Group LLC is seeking a Digital Content Manager to optimize YouTube and Podcast channels and generate SEO friendly metadata using YouTube best practices across our suite of developer-focused channels.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Stage and publish videos across our developer focused YouTube channels.
    • Generating metadata from the videos content and adding YouTube cards and end screens links.
    • Write all video metadata with SEO optimized tools to find the best keywords.
    • Tracking and shortening links using Bitly Enterprise.
    • Scanning the video to make sure all YouTube best practices are adhered to and the video meets our client's quality standards.
    • Some video uploading.
  • Stage and publish podcasts across our developer focused shows.
    • Generating metadata and managing settings.
  • Stage and publish blogs as needed.
  • Utilize team social tracker and internal tracking tools.
  • Proactive channel management for multiple channels including, but not limited to:
    • Curation / playlist management. Making sure all playlists have descriptions, are up-to-date and ordered in a way that is easily consumable for the audience. Suggesting new playlists to curate relevant content for the developer audience, updating existing playlists, and deprecating outdated content.
    • Front channel page management: Updating each channel front page to have new/relevant videos on a consistent basis. Ensuring the order of playlists highlights our latest content. Updating banners regularly.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create consistent and engaging thumbnails and banners.
  • Working with producers to get the maximum value of YouTube’s social tools, drafting for posts, and publishing content.
  • Provide stakeholders with ideas for new and existing YouTube Series names, video titles, thumbnail text, and publishing best practices for maximum platform viewership. 
  • Video performance reporting.
  • Provide real-time publishing support during events and work with the events team to publish and optimize event videos and metadata for Youtube. 
  • Assist with experiments and reporting on results to create and establish new best practices. 
  • Collaborate with other team members to revise craft GDS DML best practices docs and present findings to the larger team.
  • Constant education: Stay up-to-date with all the YouTube best practices from a variety of education-resources. Including, but not limited to the following:
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 2+ Professional experience with digital publishing across platforms such as YouTube, Libsyn and Medium/ Blogs
  • Deep understanding of digital publishing/video publishing best practices
  • Comfortable writing copy for an audience of millions
  • Experience using distribution and analytics tools
  • BA/BS degree in marketing, public relations or similar field
  • Experience using GSuite
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
This full-time temporary role offers a salary of $90,000 - $110,000 depending on experience (prorated throughout the timeline duration) this contract will run through the end of the year with the possibility to extend.
