The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and execution skills, as well as experience in financial management, operations, and strategy. The candidate will support leadership in areas like goal setting, team culture, communications, budgeting, and resource management. Success hinges on driving team culture, managing budgets, ensuring alignment across groups, and establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with strategy.

The Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Organization is looking for a Director Business Process Management  who will partner directly with the leadership team to manage rhythm of business (ROB) for the team. You will be responsible to guide business direction and help identify key objectives to execute that are in alignment with the goals of the organization.  Additionally you will develop business continuity plans and and help drive business operations in accordance with corporate governance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 
    • Controlled Technology: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations.As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information.  To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable. 
    • Customer Contract: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 7+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources or business-related roles
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 10+ years of experience in financial
  • 2+ years experience working in security domain.

Business Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • You will architect, develop, and carry out the rhythm of business (ROB), while also driving business strategy initiatives. You’ll also execute business plans to ensure continuous operations in both normal and adverse conditions.
  • You will partner with organizational leadership to lead strategy execution, while overseeing alignment across groups. You’ll also leverage deep organizational strategy knowledge to design upcoming budgets.
  • You will provide leadership support by ensuring business activities are aligned with their goals. This will involve leading multiple workstreams, leveraging key partnerships to drive leadership agenda, serving in the absence of the leader as needed.
  • You will drive team culture by getting a pulse on organizational health and leading cultural initiatives. This will involve driving training completion rates, identifying team strengths and development areas, and ensuring a healthy compliance scorecard.
  • You will drive cross-team projects as needed to meet changing business requirements and manage complex business needs. You’ll also lead project management to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts.
  • Leverages knowledge of organizational strategy and planned deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets. Works in partnership with Finance to approve budgets. Develops forecasting plans in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Collaborates with leaders regarding resource management planning. Ensures that the leader is aligned on the headcount strategy.
  • Provides direction for adherence to privacy and compliance with the Global Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Executes business plans to ensure continuation of business operations at all times, including in adverse conditions, in accordance with corporate governance.
  • Ensures checks and balances are in place for the team to ensure Microsoft's best interest with regard to strategic partnerships necessary for continuity of business
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and Microsoft teams to oversee the creation and implementation of execution plans. Leads and oversees processes to ensure alignment across groups. Sets best practices for strategy leveraging consolidated information, and presents cases to leader and business partners.
  • Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with strategy to help streamline business strategy. Works with the organization to establish and report against targets, and adjusts targets if necessary.
  • Leverages knowledge of the leader's goals and business approach to ensure business activities are aligned with the leader's objectives. Supports the leader in one or more key business management areas (e.g., setting key goals, priorities, and definitions; team culture and health; communications; budget/finance; industry/specific business knowledge).
  • Synthesizes information into insights that inform business decisions, leveraging expertise to influence the leader and leadership team. Leverages people management/influence expertise to assist leader with people management, as needed.
  • Drives cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage complex business needs. Engages in project management or may act as a project/program manager to ensure organization-wide implementation of strategic efforts that require hands-on coordination across multiple functional disciplines and business organizations.
