Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) is a comprehensive Backup as a Service (BaaS) solution that provides robust data protection and recovery for cloud workloads. As a Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for hiring, growing, and leading multiple engineering teams within VDC. Your engineering teams will build and operate data protection services within VDC. 

Your tasks will include: 

• Lead, mentor, and grow multiple engineering teams
• Work closely with product management to define the engineering roadmap for your teams and drive execution
• Oversee architectural decisions for distributed systems, scalable storage, and data protection workloads ensuring long-term reliability and performance
• Drive engineering and operational excellence, ensuring teams build high-quality, secure, and scalable SaaS services while following agile best practices
• Clearly communicate technical vision, progress, and risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders
• Act as a point of escalation for product and operational issues and support the team as needed during on-call 

What we expect from you: 

• 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5+ years in engineering management roles leading multiple teams
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, and scale high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment
• Experience shipping multiple product releases, with a strong focus on reliability, quality, and efficiency
• Expertise in cloud-native architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern backend technologies (Go, Java, or similar)
• Strong operational mindset, ensuring teams are fully responsible for the development, deployment, and operation of their services
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills, with the ability to align technical execution with business objectives
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 

Will be an advantage: 

• Experience with building B2B SaaS software
• Experience in the data protection, storage, or security fields
