Job Description

Zinnia is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead a team, drive product vision and roadmap, and align cross-functional teams to deliver InsurTech solutions. Responsibilities include owning and communicating product strategy, mentoring product managers, understanding customer needs through research and data, defining requirements with engineering and design teams, collaborating with go-to-market teams in a regulated environment, and using analytics to drive product decisions. The role also requires staying current on insurance industry trends and regulatory changes.
Must have:
  • 12+ years of product management experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Technical fluency
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Experience with cloud-native tech stacks

WHO YOU ARE:

As the Director of Product Management, you will lead a team of product managers, drive product vision and roadmap, and align cross-functional teams to deliver world-class InsurTech solutions. You’ll partner closely with engineering, underwriting, claims, compliance, and go-to-market teams to ensure our products deliver value to customers and meet business goals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Strategic Leadership: Own and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our InsurTech platform.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Deeply understand customer needs and pain points through market research, and usage data.
  • Execution & Delivery: Collaborate with engineering, design, and data teams to define requirements, prioritize backlogs, and ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Cross-functional Alignment: Work with sales, marketing, legal, compliance, and operations to launch and support products in a regulated environment.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use analytics and KPIs to drive product decisions, track performance, and improve outcomes.
  • Domain Expertise: Stay current on trends in the insurance industry, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform product strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 12+ years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience building and scaling digital products in a regulated industry, ideally insurance, InsurTech, or FinTech.
  • Bachelor’s/Master's Degree in technology or related field
  • Experience working with API-driven platforms and integrating with third-party data sources or partners
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Technical fluency—able to engage with engineering teams on architecture, APIs, and data models.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using tools like SQL, Looker, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience in delivering Cloud Native, Modern Tech Stacks and Customer/Sales Channel facing products.
  • Expert level experience in delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and the use of relevant tools
  • Ability to foster teamwork, build collaborative teams, and develop and mentor others.
  • Ability to work independently with advanced strategic thinking skills.
  • Must be able to travel on need basis, to meet clients/attending events.
