Job Description

The Director, Sales - Surface role involves supporting sell-in activities for the next generation Surface and other first-party devices built on Snapdragon solutions. This includes identifying and promoting strategic business opportunities for Qualcomm, working with internal and external stakeholders to define the Surface portfolio, managing global demand, and leveraging industry data for accurate forecasting. The role also entails establishing Qualcomm as a market leader, driving long-term portfolio decisions, and facilitating short-term execution and long-term plans. Key responsibilities include developing strategic business and sales plans for Microsoft, evangelizing Qualcomm's solutions, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring successful sell-in and sell-out of products.

General Summary:

•    Support the sell-in activities for the next generation of Surface and other first party devices products built on Snapdragon solutions
•    Identify and promote strategic business opportunities for Qualcomm in these areas
•    Work with internal and external stakeholders including legal, finance, business units, marketing and field teams to help define the next generation Surface and other first party portfolios 
•    Manage global demand profile for assigned product portfolios including demand planning, long lead forecasting, and channel inventory
•    Leverage internal data sources in conjunction with industry data sources like IDC to develop accurate long lead forecasts

Your charter will also include:
•    Identifying and working closely with top business groups and their teams to establish Qualcomm as a sustained leader in the market
•    Comprehensive understanding of Qualcomm’s portfolio and technology and assist driving long-term strategic portfolio decisions
•    Working closely with internal executives, cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to facilitate and gain support for short-term execution and long-term portfolio and sales plans based on achievement of business and financial goals and milestones
•    Track KPIs across various marketing and promotional programs to drive incrementally mores successful Qualcomm-based programs
•    Maintaining sales pipeline, provide monthly forecasts and support internal operational / financial planning processes

You will contribute to the Sales and Business Development activities for one of Qualcomm’s Key Strategic accounts - Microsoft.    This position will be working in proximity to Redmond, WA area as the successful individual will be expected to work 2-3 days per week onsite at Microsoft office locations.

In this role you will:
•    Be responsible for developing the strategic business and sales plan to monetize Qualcomm’s comprehensive portfolio across Microsoft.
•    Evangelize Qualcomm’s solutions to this customer through viable business strategies and commercialization plans
•    Identify strategic business opportunities for Qualcomm and collaborate with the account team to drive to closure
•    Drive support activities for Surface, at both the HQ and Regions, and ensure successful sell-in and sell-out.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience. 
OR 
•    Associate's degree and 10+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience. 
OR 
•    High school Diploma or equivalent and 12+ years of sales, business development, product development or related work experience. 

Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelors Degree in Engineering and at least 8 years in the compute/PC or other high-tech product companies
•    Master's, Business Administration and/or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
•    Preferred:  Master's, Business Administration in multidisciplinary marketing or similar
•    8+ years of experience in developing successful sell-in and delivery strategies at large scale companies 
•    Existing sales or technical relationships with the Microsoft Surface team
•    Experience working in a multinational, multicultural environment working across different time zones and cultures
•    Experience in negotiating contracts and closing deals
•    Experience working with internal and external senior leadership teams
•    Experience working with diverse stakeholders including finance, legal, business units, and sales teams 
•    Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
•    Direct experience working with Microsoft’s Surface PC teams is a plus
•    Experience in business development and / or strategic sales of technology products specifically to Microsoft
•    Technical expertise in Laptops/PCs, tablets and/or gaming hardware
•    Strategic Key Account Management Expertise, ability to build and nurture working level and to mid-level customer relationships & influence
•    Business and financial expertise to build long term business cases with clear ROI
•    Self-starter, must be resourceful and able to effectively operate in a complex, fast-paced environment
•    Leadership: The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, initiative oriented, recognized as a successful role-model who has demonstrated abilities to lead by influence
•    Collaboration and Influencing: The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to influence and work closely with a variety of constituencies, both internal and external, intra and inter BU, customers, partners, as well as the ability to develop and nurture strong organizational relationships based on mutual trust.
•    He/she will be a clear, open, and effective communicator across all levels of the organization with the ability to effectively interface with the most senior levels of management internally and externally, as well as influence and educate key internal leaders on trends
•    Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$224,000.00 - $336,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.  We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).  In addition, our highly competitive benefits package is designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play.
