Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for product design and rapid development of ozone water treatment systems, specifically circuit board design and layout, and firmware development. The role involves designing electrical circuits from low voltage microcontroller circuits to high voltage transformer design. The engineer will also develop firmware for microcontroller circuitry, complete the design cycle, troubleshoot board failures, and support the assembly line. The engineer will report to the Engineering Manager.

We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our San Luis Obispo, CA team. You will be responsible for product design and rapid development of our ozone water treatment systems. Specifically, circuit board design and layout, and firmware development. The individual must be driven, as they will be required to complete projects that meet or exceed customer expectations and delivery timeframes. This role reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will:

  • Wide range of electrical circuit design from low voltage microcontroller circuits and TTF displays to line level power conversion, to high voltage (10kV) transformer design.
  • Develop firmware for microcontroller circuitry.
  • Complete design cycle from design concept, prototyping, board layout, beta testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and release of new design using Altium PCB Design software.
  • Assist in managing the engineering documentation and assisting with electrical/mechanical design, prototype build and prototype testing.
  • Troubleshoot board failures, documenting failure analysis and Root Cause Counter Measure (RCCM)
  • Attend to issues in the assembly line and assure that the operation goes on without any hindrance. 
  • Support continuous flow of the assembly process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications: 

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing supporting both processes and procedures.
  • Be organized, able to work well with a team and a quick learner.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $78100 - $145000 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
