The Electrical Engineering Intern will assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of electronic circuits for Human Interface Devices (HID) like keyboards and mice. Responsibilities include working with microcontrollers, supporting PCB layout and schematic design, conducting wireless performance testing, and developing low-power solutions. The intern will collaborate with firmware engineers on protocols, assist in Qi wireless charging integration, and document results. This role offers hands-on experience in consumer electronics development, wireless charging, and embedded systems. The intern will gain experience in wireless communication protocols like Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz RF.
Must have:
  • Understanding of circuit design, power management, and PCB layout.
  • Experience with wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz RF, USB HID, NFC, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with electronics lab tools (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
Good to have:
  • Experience with battery-powered consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge of Qi wireless charging and power management ICs.
  • Knowledge of keyboard/mouse protocols (USB HID, BLE HID, etc.).
  • Understanding of mechanical key switches, haptic feedback, and sensor integration.

Job Details

General Purpose:

We are looking for a passionate Electrical Engineer Intern to join our team and contribute to the development of Human Interface Devices (HID) such as keyboards, mice, and related peripherals. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to work with wireless communication, power management, PCB design. You will collaborate with experienced engineers on innovative designs and gain real-world experience in consumer electronics development.

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Assist in designing, prototyping, and testing electronic circuits for HID products.
• Work with microcontrollers (e.g., NXP, Nordic, STM, or similar) for embedded development.
• Support PCB layout and schematic design using tools like Altium, Allegro.
• Conduct wireless performance testing (e.g., Bluetooth, RF, USB connectivity).
• Assist in developing low-power solutions for battery-operated HID devices.
• Perform debugging and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers on I2C, SPI, and USB protocols for device communication.
• Assist in Qi wireless charging and battery management system integration.
• Document test results, design changes, and performance evaluations.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of circuit design, power management, and PCB layout.
• Experience with wireless communication protocols (Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz RF, USB HID, NFC, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with electronics lab tools (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
 

Preferred Skills
• Experience with battery-powered consumer electronics.
• Knowledge of Qi wireless charging and power management ICs.
• Knowledge of keyboard/mouse protocols (USB HID, BLE HID, etc.).
• Understanding of mechanical key switches, haptic feedback, and sensor integration.
