Job Summary
As an Electronic Assembler II at Wabtec's Germantown facility, you will perform intermediate to advanced assembly operations on electronic components, circuit boards, and complex subassemblies. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of electronic assembly techniques, component identification, and quality standards. You will interpret product documents, execute assembly tasks, inspect work for compliance, and maintain workplace safety. The position is full-time, on-site, and involves using various tools and following established procedures to create productive and reliable transportation solutions.
Must Have
- Perform intermediate to advanced assembly operations on electronic components, circuit boards, and complex subassemblies.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, and work instructions.
- Interpret and utilize product documents, including schematic drawings.
- Follow directions from supervisors and group leads to ensure schedules are being run exactly as they are listed.
- Inspect work completed to ensure compliance with established quality, engineering, and process standards.
- Maintain standard cycle time and process conformance.
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace safety by wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean, organized work environment that adheres to 5S protocol standards.
- High school degree, equivalent certification, or work experience.
- At least two (2) to five (5) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, accompanied by PCB experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrate math and reading skills.
- Ability to work with no supervision and respond positively to feedback.
- Basic understanding of electronics components and polarity.
- Ability to maintain IPC-A 610C certification.
- Ability to use computer terminal and Oracle.

- Knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of mechanics.
- Knowledge of testing procedures.
- Knowledge of soldering components.
- Knowledge of performing touch-up.
- Knowledge of prepping before and after wave solder (Post Wave).

How will you make a difference?
As an electronic assembler II, you are responsible for performing intermediate to advanced assembly operations on electronic components, circuit boards, and complex subassemblies. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of electronic assembly techniques, component identification, and quality standards. This position is responsible for using a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, and work instructions to perform a series of operations to correctly assemble components. The position requires the employee to be on-site during the scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
What do we want to know about you?
- High school degree, equivalent certification, or work experience.
- At least two (2) to five (5) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment is required, accompanied by PCB experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrate math and reading skills, work with no supervision, and respond positively to feedback.
- Knowledge of hand and power tools, mechanics, testing procedures, soldering components, performing touch-up, prepping before and after wave solder (Post Wave), secondary component insertion/installation is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electronics components and polarity.
- Ability to maintain IPC-A 610C certification.
- Ability to use computer terminal and Oracle.
What will your typical day look like?
- Interpret and utilize product documents, including schematic drawings, to accurately execute assembly tasks such as assembling components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies while strictly operating within established operating procedures (SOPs).
- Follow directions from supervisors and group leads to ensure schedules are being run exactly as they are listed.
- Inspect work completed to ensure compliance with established quality, engineering, and process standards, maintaining standard cycle time and process conformance.
- Ability to cross-train and support other team members as needed.
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace safety by wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean, organized work environment that adheres to 5S protocol standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is $19.00 - $21.00.
The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
