Job Description

The EMEA Security Systems Engineer at Tesla will manage physical security systems programming, commissioning, and maintenance across EMEA. Responsibilities include managing new build projects, performing day-to-day maintenance, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, resolving service issues, and ensuring systems meet service level agreements. The role requires expertise in low-voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control, and other security technologies. The engineer will also develop relationships with third-party service partners, perform risk assessments, maintain project documentation, and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Experience in corporate, manufacturing, or retail environments
Must Have:
  • 5+ years experience managing physical security systems
  • Expert knowledge of low voltage systems, VMS, access control
  • Experience with industry standard installation tools and safety practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in project management and documentation

What We're Looking For:

Working within the Security Systems Engineering (SSE) team, the Security Systems Engineer will work with cross-functional construction, IT, and operations business teams to manage systems programming, commissioning, and administrative tasks. This multi-functional role will blend both new builds programming and commissioning as well as planned and reactive systems maintenance that assure the protection of Tesla's assets, critical infrastructure, and employees worldwide.

What You’ll Do

As a Security Systems Engineer on our team, your role will be diverse and impactful. From managing construction led new build and remodel projects to day-to-day reactive break-fix and planned preventative maintenance, your contributions will directly influence the safety and security of Tesla employees, customers, and facilities. You will engage in effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, navigate complex dependencies, and operate with a sense of urgency.

  • Test, program, and commission new technical security devices and inspect installations for quality assurance.
  • Ensure the resolution of service issues across EMEA meet service level agreements and improve the quality and assurance of security systems for Tesla.
  • Manage maintenance of installed technical devices and systems with assistance from systems integrators and the other Tesla security teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3rd party security systems service partners.
  • Coordinate pre-requisites and schedules with project partners and external systems integrators to define and manage project scope, schedule, and cost of technical security projects.
  • Perform site security risk assessments to support specific designs (As required).
  • Maintain and ensure high-quality project documentation and communication.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce cost with physical security technology.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing physical security systems programming, commissioning, and maintenance, in a corporate, manufacturing, or retail facility environment.
  • Expert knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control systems, and other technical security systems and devices.
  • Experience with industry standard installation tools and safety practices.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and navigate through an ambiguous environment; enjoys challenges.
  • Highly organized, with solid time management skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Experience and/or vendor certifications from Gallagher, Genetec, Axis, Hanwha, and Commend, are advantageous.
  • Domestic or International travel required as needed.
