About the job:
As a Software Engineering Manager at Google, you'll lead a team of engineers responsible for designing and implementing various Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking services and infrastructure components. You will drive software best practices, develop plans to achieve team goals, and represent the team to senior management and other stakeholders. You'll be instrumental in shaping the strategy for the team and continuously improving their performance. This role involves working with teams across multiple locations and managing a large product budget. You'll oversee the deployment of large-scale projects internationally.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of software development experience
  • 5 years of experience launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 2 years of experience in a people management role
Good to have:
  • 2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience with distributed systems or networks
  • Experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture
  • Experience with cloud WAN, networking infrastructure, software defined networking, security and network cost optimization with Google Cloud Platform or other public cloud platforms

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • Experience with cloud WAN, networking infrastructure, software defined networking, security and network cost optimization with Google Cloud Platform or other public cloud platforms.
