Job Description

As an Engineering Manager in Enterprise Data & Engineering (EDE) at Google, you'll lead teams in delivering data management and analytical solutions. You'll drive high-impact projects, influence data strategies (like Connected Data), and ensure data integrity and security. Responsibilities include conceiving and delivering data solutions for Googlers, partnering with internal teams to improve business processes, and maintaining high development practices. You'll manage multiple teams across locations, a large product budget, and oversee international project deployments. The role requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills, managing projects and people effectively. The team is focused on making enterprise data accessible, reliable, secure, and actionable.

Must have:

8+ years software development experience (Python, C++, Java, etc.)
3+ years technical leadership, 2+ years people management
Data management, integration, distributed databases, SQL pipelines expertise
Deliver data solutions, partner with internal teams
Maintain high development practices, ensure data security

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS or related field
Experience integrating third-party apps in Finance, Supply Chain, etc.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Experience in data management, data integration, or data domain, system integration, distributed databases, and SQL pipelines.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience implementing and integrating third-party applications within Finance, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, etc.

Responsibilities

Help conceive and deliver solutions to meet the data and analytics needs of Googlers. Drive high impact projects to deliver data management and analytical solutions for our partners across Google.
Influence the Connected Data strategy for enabling consistent, secured data assets based on canonical entity schema to support richer, higher level insights.
Ensure integrity of data under the purview of the projects, including establishing security procedures to protect and maintain the highest level of confidentiality and data security.
Partner with internal teams to define and implement solutions that improve internal business processes.
Maintain highest levels of development practices including: technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code.
