Lead the Games Platform Test Engineering team at Netflix, driving quality strategy for game developer and member experiences. Responsibilities include defining and implementing test automation frameworks, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Design, Game Studios, Operations), and mentoring engineers. The role requires strong programming skills, experience with SDKs/APIs, and expertise in test automation within a continuous integration environment. You will focus on improving the quality of the Games SDK, backend services, developer tools, and platform UI experiences across mobile, TV, and web platforms.
Must have:

  • Experience with SDKs/APIs and mobile development (iOS/Android)
  • Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine testing

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Games Platform Test Engineering team and to drive the quality strategy for the platform. This role will focus on the quality of both the game developer experience when integrating our products into their games, as well as the member experience of Netflix customers using platform functionality within the games. As the leader of the Test Engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating and improving the quality of our Games Platform products and evolving how our teams work to ensure long-term quality and success.

What you will do

  • Drive the overall quality and testing strategy for the Netflix Games Platform, covering product areas including the Games SDK, backend services and APIs, game developer tools, and platform UI experiences on mobile, TV, and Web.

  • Lead and grow a cross-platform team of test engineers responsible for design and implementation of automation tests and the tools and infrastructure needed to support automation

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Engineering, Product, Design, Game Studios, and Operations to understand objectives and concerns between teams

  • Work closely with Netflix central testing automation teams to augment existing frameworks to support Games Platform needs

  • Teach and evangelize best practice quality principles to peer engineering teams

  • Effectively identify, prioritize, and manage high-impact quality initiatives for the platform

  • Lead technical discussions and make informed decisions regarding the test automation strategy for multiple domains and cross-platform products

  • Gather and analyze operational data to gain insights on how to improve test stability, performance, and coverage

What skills are important to us?

Here are some key skills that will make you successful on this team:

  • Experience implementing or catalyzing a culture of quality in a software organization

  • Experience building test automation frameworks and writing automated tests, and using them to power short feedback cycles in a continuous integration environment

  • Strong programming knowledge and hands-on software development experience, mobile experience (iOS/Android) a plus

  • Experience developing or testing third-party SDKs and APIs

  • Experience with build and test orchestration tools such as Jenkins

  • Experience with Unity or Unreal and automated testing of plugins and bindings in those environments

The overall market range for roles in this area of Netflix is typically $100K - $720K.
