Engineering Technician, Cell Abuse Testing

Tesla seeks a highly driven Engineering Technician for a one-year fixed-term position at its Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. The role involves validating lithium-ion cell and battery safety performance through testing, executing tests to evaluate performance and validate requirements. Responsibilities include performing cell and battery tests using various equipment (cyclers, temperature control fixtures, environmental chambers, data loggers), summarizing results in reports, conducting destructive analysis, and working with hazardous materials. Collaboration with stakeholders and equipment building/commissioning may also be required. The ideal candidate possesses experience with cell/battery testing equipment and data processing software (MATLAB/Python, SQL a plus) and a background in relevant engineering or technical fields. Experience with safety failures, fire/burn testing, and hazardous material handling is highly desirable.
