Role Description: 

We are seeking an experienced enterprise architect (technical applications architect) to support the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) within the (MDHHS). This role will focus on designing and implementing technology solutions to modernize public health data systems, helping MDHHS improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

 

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a technical roadmap for MDHHS's data modernization aligned with CDC priorities.
  • Architect scalable, secure public health data systems for improved surveillance, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Drive innovative data solutions to enhance data collection and dissemination.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective use of modern data technologies and best practices.
Required Skills:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Technical proficiency in programming, database management, system design, networking, cloud services, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
  3. Hands-on experience in roles such as software developer, systems analyst, or network engineer.
  4. Leadership and communication skills to lead teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  10. Experience performing analysis, design, documentation, and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks, including cloud infrastructure.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  1. Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture.
  2. Certifications in TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect.
  3. Project leadership experience in system architecture.
Experience in public or government health is preferred.

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
