The Entry Level Ship Simulator Technician will join a dynamic team and develop skills to become a Simulator Engineer, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of Naval Ship simulators. They will ensure smooth, efficient, and top-quality operations at the training center. This role involves supporting technical and operational aspects of Ship Simulator Training Devices, performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions. The technician will also perform software and hardware updates, maintain inventory, and pursue expertise in simulator systems. The role requires fostering a positive workplace culture and supporting health, safety, and environmental activities.
Must have:
  • Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computers, or Mechatronics.
  • Must be UAE Nationals.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language (read, spoken, and written).
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to maintain customer relationships.
  • Basic knowledge or understanding of networking, operating systems, and programming languages.

About the role

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an Entry Level Ship Simulator Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will develop your skills and grow into a Simulator Engineer, contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of our Naval Ship simulators. You'll play a vital part in ensuring smooth, efficient, and top-quality operations at our state-of-the-art training center. 

We are looking for passionate individuals who are eager to help us achieve CAE’s goal of delivering world-class simulator training. As part of CAE’s vision to be the global training partner of choice, you will contribute to enhancing safety, efficiency, and readiness across all aspects of our training center operations. 

This role is perfect for recent graduates with Engineering degrees or those with other engineering qualifications and some work experience. You will ideally need driving license to access the base 

Key Tasks 

  • Support all technical and operational aspect of the Ship Simulator Training Devices  

  • Attend maintenance calls, perform daily readiness checks as required, perform scheduled preventative maintenances. 

  • Identify, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues. 

  • Identify recurring issues and work to pursue permanent solutions. 

  • Seek and make improvements to procedures related to various training device maintenance tasks. 

  • Through coaching and mentoring, provide on the job technical training to other technicians that will foster the professional development of all personnel. 

  • Work with the specialists on complex issues that require extensive testing, troubleshooting, research, and design. 

  • Assure, maintain and support the FSTD operations Management System, including implementation and adopting processes and procedures as deemed required. 

  • Perform minor software, hardware and/or CDB updates when required.  

  • Maintain, keep track, and request consumable items and tools required to perform the PMTs and Daily Readiness. 

  • Support logistics duties, including yearly inventories, re-arrangement of stores, packing, preparation for shipping, etc. 

  • Pursue knowledge and skills to strive to become a technical expert in one or more simulator system. (i.e. Visual systems, control systems, etc…)

  • Paramount importance to occupational Safety and Health in the workplace and associated metrics. 

  • Support compliance and environment activities aligned with CAE Management System and Global Environmental policies. 

Qualifications and skill set requirements 

  • You will hold a Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computers and Mechatronics. 

  • Candidates must be UAE Nationals 

  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, read, spoken, and written. 

  • Highly customer oriented, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the customer. 

  • Basic knowledge or understanding of networking, operating systems, and programming languages.
