Tesla's Regulatory Credit Trading team seeks a Trading Analyst to lead origination, trading, and operations for revenue-generating transactions in European low-carbon fuel credit markets. Responsibilities include negotiating with regulated parties, managing transaction reporting and delivery, providing market analysis to inform trading decisions and partnerships, guiding internal advocacy positions, and developing expert knowledge of local regulations. The role requires collaboration with internal teams (accounting, audit, finance) and external stakeholders, demanding strong analytical, communication, and financial reporting skills. The successful candidate will possess a passion for Tesla's mission and a strong track record in trading, portfolio management, or energy/environmental markets. Fluency in English and one other European language is necessary.

What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Trading Analyst to join its Regulatory Credit Trading team under Corporate Development. The Trading Analyst will lead origination, trading, and operations related to revenue generating transactions within low carbon fuel credit markets in Europe. Applicants must have a passion for Tesla’s mission to advance the world’s transition to sustainable energy, and successful candidates will be extremely detail-oriented, analytical, and effective communicators. The scope for this position is global and the preferred location is either in Amsterdam or Berlin. 
What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with companies responsible for managing regulatory emissions compliance in low carbon fuel markets across Europe
  • Negotiate with regulated parties to execute transactions and framework agreements to streamline increased trading activity
  • Manage the ongoing reporting, delivery, and invoice requirements associated with the transactions
  • Provide detailed fundamental market analysis to support trading decisions and inform partnership opportunities
  • Partner with internal teams to guide advocacy position in low carbon fuel markets across Europe
  • Develop expert local market knowledge on new and existing regulations and regulatory credit markets
  • Ensure accurate external financial reporting by working with accounting and audit teams and produce weekly and monthly financial reports for the business and finance teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Fluent in English with proficiency in at least one other language like German, French, or Dutch
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in a professional capacity with two to three years of experience in trading, portfolio management, or energy/environmental markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering, and/or equivalent technical experience from past roles
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements, analyst reports, regulations, and technical documents highly preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent analytical skills (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint, financial modeling, etc.)
  • Highly collaborative and team oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills to synthesize complex topics into understandable points, particularly with senior business leaders and external stakeholders
  • Analytical and creative first principles thinking with the ability to solve problems with limited information
